DIVINE RESIDUE

This project narrates mythology through the lens of material culture. It merges the divine and the disposable. Deity masks, crowns, and gestures of ritual coexist with plastic basket-weave skirts, banyans, and lungis. These juxtapositions blur the boundaries between the sacred and the mundane, the mythic and the modern. The imagery invokes a theatre of metamorphosis: gods reincarnated in synthetic skins. Here, mythology is not fossilized tradition but a living organism. It asks: what happens when the divine descends into the everyday? Where do gods go when their temples are landfills of plastic and memory?
